About Between Beautiful
Between Beautiful is an advocate of illustration. It's run by two people with an extensive background in commercial illustration and communications. We believe in fair practice and raising the profile of illustration. We want to push your work and make you seen.

Who Between Beautiful is for
Between Beautiful is for illustrators to showcase their work and art buyers to find their inspired artist.

How this site works
Between Beautiful provides a doorway into the world of illustration commissions. As an illustrator showcased on BB, you have a unique talent. BB provides the opportunity to get seen, by the right people, which is key.

When 60 illustrators are showcased, we ask each illustrator to pay £10 for one months advertising (it's free if there are less than 60 illustrators). If you agree, your money is put in a pot with everyone else’s. Each month ALL the money (minus our running costs which will be about 5% of the pot) is spent on advertising the site through a range of channels including the web and printed media (the ones those art directors read as they sip their morning mocabocachino...) or it will go into web advertising e.g. google adwords.

This level of exposure is something you can’t achieve as a single illustrator, unless you are mega rich, but if you were you wouldn't be reading this, you would be sipping cocktails on a beach right now.

Each month we will send you an email detailing the plan for advertisements during that month so you'll know who's looking at your work.

You place your favorite piece of work on the BB portfolio page. Art director's then click your picture and are taken to your own personal web site to see your full portfolio and access your contact details. Art buyers then contact you directly.

If you are represented by an agency please provide us with a link to your personal site (from which clients can access your agent if you prefer). Currently we do not link directly to agency pages. You can have space to showcase your work on this site if you require. See 'Your web site' for details.

You and your work
We hope you enjoy any commissions you get via this web site. We don't take a cut, we are not an agency, but we do want to help you be seen and get work!

Your web site
To be an excellent illustrator you don't have to have a fancy web site. You can set up a web page through your internet provider; add some pics, contact details and any other information you think might be of interest to art buyers and Bob’s your uncle. But if your web site is fancy, good for you.

If you don't have your own site you can buy a page from Between Beautiful at £5 per month. For this you can put up to 20 images on your page together with your contact details and client references. For details of how to request your own space on Between Beautiful email jen@betweenbeautiful.com

Getting on Between Beautiful
Send us your favorite image now together with a link to your site. If you dont have a site of your own send us some examples of your work. We will then let you know if you're application to appear on the site has been successful for that month.

Please email us the picture that you wish to put on this site. Email to jen@betweenbeautiful.com. Please make sure your picture meets the following specifications otherwise it can't go on and you'll need to resend it!

Width (max): 200 px

Don’t forget to send your web site address with your picture.

You can change your picture anytime. Just email us a new image with the subject of the email "PICTURE CHANGE" for <your name>" and we will change the image as soon as we can.

You will be able to pay the monthy fee online via PayPal (£10 to appear on porfolio page, £15 if we have created a portfolio page for you. You can pay for a few months in advance if you wish.

Leaving Between Beautiful
If you wish to leave, simply say adios in an email and we will remove your image at the end of the month of your final payment. You can come back at anytime (especially if you find £10 down the back of the sofa and want something decent to spend it on).

Home page image selection
The image that appears on the BB home page is magically selected. We don't even know which image will appear. Each time the home page is viewed it will load with a different and random image to ensure it's fair to everyone. It could be you!
